2 for 1 Stock Split Newsletter

2 for 1 is a monthly publication following an IRA account owned by its editor and publisher, Neil Macneale III. The 2 for 1 account and the newsletter were initiated in 1996. Motivated by the goal of beating the S&P 500 while keeping concepts extremely simple, Macneale developed an investment strategy relying on three key elements: 1) Investing only in companies having recently announced a stock split, 2) Being fully invested in a “laddered” portfolio of 30 exchange listed stocks, and 3) Refreshing the portfolio by selling off the oldest position and buying a replacement on a monthly schedule. Every buy and sell is discussed in the newsletter and a statement of the account is published every month. All 2 for 1 splits of listed stocks are ranked each month and the most promising are discussed. Subscribers have the option of following Macneale’s buy and sell recommendations precisely, or they may pick and choose from the companies featured as best suited for their particular portfolio. This methodology has resulted in a portfolio that has beaten the S&P 500 10 out of the last 14 years and has averaged an annualized return of over 9%.
